Dr. Vishal Bhalani is board certified in Urology and specializes in all aspects of genitourinary surgery. He is also a robotics trained surgeon, who joins us after relocating his practice from Chicago, where he served as Chair of Robotic Surgery. Dr. Bhalani’s other interests include penile prosthesis surgery, male incontinence, Peyronie’s disease, minimally invasive treatments for BPH, and urethral reconstruction for stricture disease.

Dr. Bhalani received a prestigious academic scholarship to the University of Miami where he earned his medical degree. He completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by a residency in Urology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He has published numerous journal articles on topics related to the treatment of prostate cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and kidney stones, as well as improving the techniques of robotic and minimally invasive surgery. His work has been presented at national and international conferences.

Dr. Tariq Hakky earned his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. After completing his medical training he did a fellowship in Male Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During his fellowship training, Dr. Hakky gained experience in caring for men with fertility difficulties, as well as men looking to optimize their health.

Dr. Hakky provides cutting edge and innovative treatments in sexual medicine and infertility at Advanced Urology and Men’s Health Georgia. His interests include erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, infertility, and penile implant surgery.

Men’s Health Georgia is led by Dr. Hakky. He is a foremost expert in low testosterone and one of the premier surgeons for erectile dysfunction in the United States. Dr. Mally has published numerous journal articles on topics ranging from kidney cancer to robotic and minimally invasive surgery. His work has been presented in numerous national and international conferences.

While Dr. Mally specializes in all aspects of genitourinary surgery, he has special expertise in treating urologic cancers including prostate, kidney, bladder, adrenal and testes cancer. He was a Fellow and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which has ranked as one of the top two hospitals in cancer care every year since U.S. News & World Report began its annual “America’s Best Hospitals” survey in 1990. During this time, Dr. Mally completed a Clinical Research Methodology Curriculum funded by the National Institute of Health and was a primary author for a clinical trial utilizing checkpoint inhibitors to treat non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. This novel treatment that unleashes the body’s own disease fighting cells against cancer –an approach known as immunotherapy – has been heralded as the “Breakthrough of the Year” by Science magazine in 2013.

Dr. Mally is well trained in da Vinci® robot-assisted procedures, endoscopy, laparoscopy and open surgery. He then attended the Kansas University School of Medicine where he received a second full tuition scholarship for academic excellence and leadership in particularly under privileged communities, awarded by the NIH. During his medical training he assumed numerous leadership roles with organizations dedicated to serving impoverished communities with limited access to healthcare and educational opportunities. He also participated in several research endeavors in the fields of Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Physiology, Otolaryngology, and Male Infertility.

Dr. Anderson then completed his Residency in Urologic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. During his training, Dr. Anderson gained robust experience in a wide range of urologic procedures, from advanced robotic surgical procedures using the da Vinci Surgical System, to management of severe urologic trauma. Dr. Neal Patel earned his medical degree from Chicago Medical School as part of an engineering in medicine program with the Illinois Institute of Technology where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics. After completing residency in Urologic Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, he joined the USC Institute of Urology as a Felix and Mildred Yip Fellow in Advanced Robotics and Laparoscopy.

Dr. Patel has been active with the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society and the Chicago Medical Society. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Medical Society, and has held multiple leadership positions within organized medicine at both local and national levels. In 2009, Dr. Patel was invited to attend the TEDMED inaugural conference in San Diego and has since been an invited alumnus.

During his time at USC, Dr. Patel performed hundreds of benign and oncologic Robotic procedures using the Intuitive Surgical’s DaVinci™ Xi and Si platforms and also consulted with Intuitive Surgical in testing future technologies. Dr. Naveen Arora earned his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.  He then earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he graduated at the top 10% of his class.  He completed his General Surgery internship and Urologic Surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Akron General residency program. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Arora, pursued further specialized training by completing a Fellowship in Urologic Oncology, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at Carolinas Medical Center at the Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC.

Dr. Arora specializes in all areas of urology; he has a particular interest in benign prostatic hyperplasia, kidney stone disease, overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, and in all aspects of urologic oncology (bladder, prostate, kidney, testes, penile, adrenal). He has gained a tremendous amount of experience and training in complex operations such as da Vinci robotic assisted prostatectomy, robotic partial and radical nephrectomy, robotic adrenalectomy, robotic pelvic reconstruction for prolapse disease, and robotic cystectomy with both intracorporeal and extracorporeal urinary diversions.

Dr. Arora is a true advocate for his patients and passionate about giving his patients the highest level of care and the best possible outcomes. While a Fellow, he was integral in the development of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery program in the Carolinas Medical Center Urology Department. Meet Dr. T. Casey McCullough

Dr. Casey McCullough is board certified in Urology and joins us as an accomplished urologic surgeon specializing in robotic and minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant conditions of the urinary tract.  He practiced in Connecticut previously and began a de novo community hospital robotics surgery program which grew to one of the most successful in New England.  Dr. McCullough’s other interests include stone disease, minimally invasive treatments for BPH, cancer of the prostate/kidney/bladder, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and blood in the urine.

Dr. McCullough earned his undergraduate degree from Colby College graduating Magna Cum Laude, with honors in both double majors of Biochemistry and Music.  He was a principal saxophonist in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Symphony, as well as a two-sport varsity athlete in Ice Hockey and Lacrosse.  He then completed his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine concurrently with an MBA at the St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business.  Dr. McCullough finished his urologic residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and finally his fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the prestigious L’Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France, where the laparoscopic prostatectomy was pioneered!

Dr. McCullough is an extensively published author in peer-reviewed journals and medical book chapters, and presented at national meetings.  For multiple years, Dr. McCullough has been named a “Top Doctor” by Connecticut Magazine.  He is thrilled to join the premier Urology group in Atlanta and provide the best technologically advanced urologic care in a compassionate and caring manner.

Dr. McCullough earned his undergraduate degree from Colby College graduating Magna Cum Laude, with honors in both double majors of Biochemistry and Music.  He was a principal saxophonist in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Symphony, as well as a two-sport varsity athlete in Ice Hockey and Lacrosse.  He then completed his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine concurrently with an MBA at the St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business.  Dr. McCullough finished his urologic residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and finally his fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic surgery at the prestigious L’Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France, where the laparoscopic prostatectomy was pioneered!

Dr. McCullough is an extensively published author in peer-reviewed journals and medical book chapters, and presented at national meetings.  For multiple years, Dr. McCullough has been named a “Top Doctor” by Connecticut Magazine.  He is thrilled to join the premier Urology group in Atlanta and provide the best technologically advanced urologic care in a compassionate and caring manner.

 

 

 

Meet Dr. Mukesh Patel

Diplomate American Board of Urology

Dr. Mukesh Patel has lived with his family in metro Atlanta for over 25 years. While practicing urology full time in Gwinnett County, he has been a pioneer in organizing community health fairs and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all.

Raised in a family of physicians, Dr. Patel practices the holistic lifestyle that he advocates through the talks and presentations he gives at various civic groups and organizations. He is an active member of the medical staff at the Eastside Medical Center in Snellville and the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville; and he volunteers his services at these facilities by participating on several committees and in community health screening events.

From 2000 to 2010, Dr. Patel served as the Chairman of the Board of Gujarati Samaj, the largest non-profit Indian cultural organization in Atlanta, which has a membership of almost 1,000 families. This organization now has a well-established community center in Gwinnett County. It offers programs for children, youth groups, adults and senior citizens, as well as educational scholarships for college-bound students.

Today, Dr. Patel serves as an active member of the American Urological Association and the Medical Association of Georgia. He is also a Board member of the Indian American Urological Association and the Baroda Medical College Alumni Association. In addition to providing medical educational opportunities, these volunteer organizations facilitate free health care for poor and needy members of the community.

Dr. Patel holds a graduate degree in medicine and surgery and a Master’s degree in general surgery from M.S. University in Baroda, India. Since completing an additional six years of training in urology at The State University of New York, he has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.

An avid ALTA level “A” tennis player, he enjoys photography, table tennis, badminton and traveling around the world trying to learn the customs and cultures of many civilizations.

Morgann Harney was born in Nashville, TN but grew up in Murfreesboro, TN. She played basketball throughout school and developed an interest in medicine after undergoing two knee surgeries within the same year. Morgann received an academic scholarship to attend Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated with an Athletic Training degree. He went on to graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. He spent the next few years working in numerous labs and doing research on cell growth.

His academic accomplishments led him to Emory University School of Medicine where he studied to be a physician assistant. He graduated with honors and received advanced training in urology. With 25 years of experience in urology, he is considered one of the most knowledgeable professionals amongst his peers. Anthony has a special interest in neurogenic bladder, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and erectile dysfunction.

When he isn’t practicing medicine, Anthony can be found playing golf, riding his motorcycle, fishing, or spending time with his family.
